Felix Zwayer gifted Liverpool a last-gasp victory in Tuesday’s heavyweight Champions League clash against Inter Milan.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the German referee’s controversial penalty decision left the Nerazzurri chiefs fuming.
Dominik Szoboszlai converted the 88th-minute penalty as Liverpool toppled Inter Milan 1-0 at San Siro.
However, the Hungarian’s winning goal was the product of a scandalous call made by Felix Zwayer and his VAR team.
Indeed, VAR official Soren Storks messed things up at San Siro.

Despite waving ‘play on,’ Zwayer overturned his initial decision after receiving a call from Storks.
Yet, the VAR referee was wrong to contact his German colleague in the first place.
There wasn’t probable cause despite Florian Wirtz’s theatrics and Alessandro Bastoni’s recklessness.
Still, Storks interfered, triggering a chain of events that handed Liverpool a controversial late winner.
Furthermore, his actions condemned Inter to their second consecutive Champions League loss.
