LSU football's Lane Kiffin responds to Dave Portnoy about Michigan job

Social media is in uproar following the firing of Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore on Wednesday. It’s unclear who will take the reins next in Ann Arbor, but one of the school’s biggest supporters already has a name in mind.

Barstool founder Dave Portnoy posted on social media joking that the Wolverines should target newly-hired LSU head coach Lane Kiffin.

“How much did LSU pay @Lane_Kiffin Let’s just double it. He’d leave. Reunite him Underwood,” Portnoy wrote in his post.

Portnoy referenced Michigan’s freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood at the end of the post. Underwood was originally committed to LSU but the Detroit, MI native ultimately flipped to his home state school. Portnoy said “reunite” but Kiffin was not LSU’s coach when Underwood was committed to the Tigers.

Kiffin responded to the post with his own joke, suggesting that Portnoy should direct his support to LSU. Portnoy talks openly about his financial support of Michigan through NIL.

“You #ComeToTheBoot Together we can’t be beat!” Kiffin said.
