The Texas A&M basketball team delivered a statement performance at Reed Arena, rolling past Jacksonville with a 112–75 win. It marked their fourth 100‑point outing of the season, tying the program record set in 1978–79, and they’ve reached that mark just 11 games into the campaign.
When you look at the schedule against the roster, there are opponents you’re expected to beat — and then there are opponents you’re expected to blow out. Jacksonville fell into the latter category, and A&M kept its foot on the gas once the rhythm clicked. A key contributor returning to form was Rylan Griffen, who shone after missing two weeks due to illness.
“When he came back, he just wasn’t himself in a lot of ways. But tonight he looked like he had his energy back, and he’ll be able to sustain longer minutes as we move forward.”
As any good coach would, Bucky McMillan wasn’t delighted despite the 37‑point margin. He praised the progress but emphasized that with SEC play looming, the margin for error will be slim.
“I still wouldn’t see it exactly how I want to see it. But the one thing I did like was having everybody back in the game again — the whole roster was available, and that’s good. We’re taking steps in the right direction. Guys are getting better.”

Texas A&M will remain in Bryan-College Station to take on the East Texas A&M Lions on Sunday, December 21, at 3 p.m. CT. The game will air on SEC Network+.
