NFL broadcast maps; Saints-Jets won't reach a wide audience in Week 16

This week’s New Orleans Saints game with the New York Jets will be limited to each teams’ home market, with CBS affiliate stations in and around New York City as well as Louisiana carrying the matchup. Saints fans in Louisiana, most of Mississippi (south of Oxford and Tupelo), and communities neighboring Shreveport in Texas, Arkansas, and southeasternmost Oklahoma will get the game. You can check your local listings as well as the Week 16 broadcast maps from 506 Sports.

But look a little closer and you can see the Saints’ reach shrinking. The game won’t be shown in Mobile, Ala. or Tupelo, Miss. for the first time in a long time. It looks like decision-makers in those markets would rather show Myles Garrett try to break the single season sacks record against the Buffalo Bills. That’s disappointing, but when the Saints have lost as many games as they have in recent years, it isn’t surprising.

Tom McCarthy will call the game on play-by-play with Ross Tucker sharing commentary from the booth, and Amanda Balionis reporting from the sideline. Kickoff is set for 12 Noon CT/1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 21.
