The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its All-American Teams on Wednesday. For Nebraska, four Huskers were named. Andi Jackson, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly made the first team and Rebekah Allick made the second team.
This brings Nebraska’s nation-leading total to 111 all-time. This is Murray’s and Reilly’s third time named to the AVCA All-Americans, but their first time on the first team. Jackson made the first team for the second straight year, and Allick earned All-American accolades for the first time.
Murray made the first team following a career year. She led the Huskers by averaging 3.54 kills per set and a .295 attack percentage. Murray also averaged 2.16 digs and 0.60 blocks per set and hit a team-high 34 aces.
Jackson grabbed her second straight first team selection, along with AVCA Player of the Year Semifinalist, after averaging 2.74 kills per set, 1.12 blocks per set and a .467 hitting percentage. Jackson’s .467 hitting percentage currently leads the nation and is No. 3 in school history for a single season.
Reilly achieved her first-team accolade for the first time backed by a record-breaking year, helping the team set a school-record with a .351 hitting percentage on the year, exceeding the previous record by .020. This also led the nation and is the best hitting percentage by a Big Ten team since 2009.
Reilly also guided Nebraska to a school-record nine matches with a .400 or better hitting percentage this season in the rally-scoring era. She averaged 10.47 assists per set and 2.70 digs per set and totaled 73 kills, 67 blocks and 19 aces. Reilly also won Big Ten Player of the Year, AVCA Region Player of the Year, Big Ten Setter of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten.
Allick finished the year with her first AVCA All-American honor after being named All-Region three times. She also made first team All-Big Ten First Team. Allick received both after a massive season, earning 2.56 kills per set on .450 hitting with a team-high 1.27 blocks per set.
Her .450 ranks No. 4 for Nebraska’s single-season mark and is also No. 4 in the country this season. Allick also finished her Husker career fifth in school history in career blocks in the rally-scoring era, racking up 543.
