Running back De’Von Achane was one of the few bright spots for the Miami Dolphins offense in a 45-21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Achane was efficient out of the backfield and showcased his big play capabilities against the Cincinnati defense. Achane carried the ball 15 times for 81 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown run.
Achane’s big touchdown run came on the Dolphins second drive of the game and tied the score 7-7.

Achane has now tied his career high of eight rushing touchdowns in a season. He has also tied his single season all-purpose touchdown total of 12 when factoring in his four receiving touchdowns. Achane came into this weekend with a league best 5.8 yards per carry, and third in the NFL with 1,186 rushing yards.
Achane now has 1,267 rushing yards in 2025, which ranks fourth most in Dolphins franchise history with three games to go. Achane needs just six yards to move into third place on this list as he closes in on Jay Ajayi’s mark of 1,272 yards in 2016. He could also catch Ricky Williams for No. 2 on the list, who had 1,372 yards in 2003. The franchise record of 1,853 set by Williams in 2002 is safe.
Achane has established himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL in year three of his career. He has been the star of this Dolphins offense while the passing game has consistently struggled. The quarterback change from Tua Tagovailoa to Quinn Ewers paid little dividends in another blowout loss.
The Dolphins have numerous big decisions to make this offseason, including the option to re-sign Achane to an extension. The running back is wrapping up the third year of his four-year rookie deal and will be eligible for a new contract in 2026.
