Spartans reportedly expected to hire veteran offensive line coach

Michigan State football is reportedly nearing the hiring of its next offensive line coach.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports is reporting that Michigan State is “expected” to hire Nick Tabacca as its next offensive line coach. Zenitz reported the notable expected new staff hire on Wednesday afternoon.

Tabacca was a longtime offensive line coach at Wake Forest. He was with the Demon Deacons as their offensive line coach from 2014 to 2024. Prior to his time with Wake Forest, Tabacca was the offensive line coach at Ball State for two seasons and the co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach at Butler for two seasons.

Tabacca is the latest offensive coaching staff hire for the Spartans in the last week. Michigan State has moved quickly in filling out its staff on the offensive side of the ball, with Nick Sheridan being named offensive coordinator, and Courtney Hawkins (wide receivers coach) and Brian Wozniak (tight ends coach) being retained in the last few days. Now, Michigan State only has openings at quarterbacks coach and running backs coach remaining on the offense.
