Ryan Kennedy, the Detroit Lions fan involved in the physical altercation with Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf, will reportedly host a press conference with Head Murphy Law to discuss the ongoing situation and clear up any “misinformation.”
The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo reported the news on Wednesday, which included a statement from Head Murphy Law.
“Head Murphy Law announced they’ll be holding a news conference with client Ryan Kennedy on Friday ‘To address the assault, correct misinformation that has been publicly repeated as fact, and discuss the serious consequences Mr. Kennedy has faced…,’” DeFabo wrote via X.
With around three minutes remaining in the second quarter of the Steelers’ Week 16 matchup against the Lions, Metcalf walked over to where Kennedy was located in the stands and grabbed him by the shirt collar. Metcalf then forcefully shoved Kennedy back, nearly making contact with his face.
Following the altercation, former NFL wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson claimed that a racial slur was used to trigger Metcalf, as well as disrespectful and profane language targeted at the wide receiver’s mother — allegations that Kennedy and his legal team have vehemently denied.
We at Steelers Wire will provide more updates on the situation as more information from the press conference becomes available.
