Mike Vrabel makes history on the road in first year with Patriots

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel has already joined elite company thanks to his historic first season with the Patriots’ organization.

Vrabel joined legendary San Francisco 49ers head coach George Seifert as one of the only two coaches to go undefeated on the road in their first year with a team.

The Patriots went 8-0 on the season, scoring 27.7 points per game on the road. Their road record included wins against the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens. They were the only team in the 2025 season to finish the year unbeaten away from their home building.

Their road success was a major reason for their regular-season success, as they finished 13-3 on the year. The success overall was a surprise to many considering the team only won four games last year.

There is still much more work to be done with Vrabel looking to build a franchise with sustainable success. He is off to a strong start with the team winning the AFC East division and clinching a playoff berth in his first year at the helm.
