Cam Little rewrites NFL record book with 67-yard field goal vs Titans

JACKSONVILLE ― A failed fourth-down attempt late in the second quarter by the Tennessee Titans offense set up Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little to make the longest outdoor kick in NFL regular season history.

Little nailed a 67-yard field goal with room to spare over the cross bar as time expired in the first half of the Titans’ game against the Jaguars, giving the Jaguars a 31-7 halftime lead. The kick qualifies as the second-longest made field goal in NFL regular season history, behind a 68-yard kick Little made earlier this season. That 68-yard kick was in Las Vegas in a domed stadium, making this the longest made kick in natural elements.

Little also made a 70-yard kick in the preseason, but NFL records to not include events that happen in preseason games.

The Titans attempted to convert a fourth down from their own 49-yard line with nine seconds remaining in the half, but backup quarterback Brandon Allen’s pass fell incomplete. That resulted in a turnover on downs, and the Jaguars sent their kicking unit straight onto the field rather than setting up for a Hail Mary attempt with the offense.
