Two more targets spur Notre Dame and transfer elsewhere

The transfer portal hits kept coming for Notre Dame football, as Tuesday saw two more prospects who had future visits set up commit elsewhere.

Wake Forest defensive tackle Mateen Ibirogba looked like a great for the Irish, and was going to see South Bend. Unfortunately for Notre Dame, Texas Tech beat them to the punch and secured a commitment according to Hayes Fawcett from On3’s top defensive lineman in the portal.

Then fairly late into the day, Tulsa tight end Brody Foley made his verbal to Louisville, also according to Fawcett. In just 37 receptions, he had 540-yards and 9 touchdowns last fall, and would have fit perfectly into the Irish’s offense.

Notre Dame still is searching for its first transfer commitment, as they’ve missed out on many of its early targets. The good news is that more players continue to enter, and playing the long game could work out in the Irish’s favor.
