Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson lookalike contest held in Bedford Park

It was the Battle of Bens.

Dozens of contestants took to the stage to see who looks the most like Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson at an event Thursday in the south suburbs ahead of this weekend’s playoff game.

The contest happened Thursday evening at the Wintrust Sports Complex in Bedford Park.

Fans of all ages were welcome to participate and show off their likeliness.

Contestants who showed up hoped to win big on their looks as part of the Good, Better, Best Look-A-Like Contest

ABC7 was told tear-away shirts were optional.

Bedford Village leaders say they put the event together in hopes to get fans even more excited for this weekend’s game

It was Matt Filipiak from Elmhurst who took home first place.

“I’ve had a few people say randomly on the internet that I look like Ben Johnson before so I took it ran with it, with my wife’s help, all credit to her she painted my chest and the rest is history,” Filipiak said.

Here were the prizes for the winners:
1st place: $1,000 Visa gift card, roundtrip ground transportation to/from a game from O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service and free car washes for a year from Gas N Wash.

2nd place: $500 Visa gift card and free pizza for a year from Moretti’s.

3rd place: $300 Visa gift card.

There were also door prizes and raffles, including free parking.
