A first glance at Oregon’s 2026 opponents and early-season schedule

In a blink, the 2025 season for the Oregon Ducks has come to a close. And for the second straight season, it ended in disappointing fashion with a blowout in front of a national audience.

But in college football, the clock continues to roll. Preparations for the 2026 season have to begin right now for the head coach Dan Lanning and Co., with other programs getting a head start in transfer portal recruiting.

As part of the preparations for next season comes taking a look at the early-season schedule and Big Ten opponents, which have already been released.

The 2026 campaign for the Ducks will begin at home against the Boise State Broncos, first-time members of the PAC-12. The last time the two teams matched up was in Week 2 of the 2024 season, as Boise State pushed Oregon to the brink, forcing the Ducks to make a game-winning field goal just to down the unranked Broncos.

Oregon will then travel to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the second part of a home-and-home series in which the Cowboys played at Autzen Stadium in Week 2 of the 2025 season. That game, in which Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy poked the bear in mentioning Oregon’s NIL budget, resulted in a 69-3 beatdown.

But the Cowboys will look much different in 2026, as they’ve hired a new head coach in North Texas’ Eric Morris and brought along a number of key contributors from a Mean Green squad that went 12-2 in the AAC, including the nation’s leading passer in quarterback Drew Mestemaker.

The next week will be the final non-conference game of the regular-season for Oregon, as they’ll host in-state Portland State Vikings at Autzen Stadium. The teams last met in 2023 also in Eugene, with the Ducks coming away with an 81-7 victory.

The road in conference play, although the exact date and times of games has yet to released, isn’t going to be easy for the Ducks.

Oregon’s full 2026 schedule is set to feature seven home games at Autzen Stadium versus just five road games, giving the Ducks some reprieve in the face of what is shaping up to be a difficult conference schedule with an intriguing road test against Oklahoma State early in the season.
