The start of Lewis Hamilton’s term with Mercedes feels like an absolute age ago. In fact, it has already been six years since he won his last title.

The Briton shared so many good moments during his 12 seasons with the Silver Arrows and achieved a level of success that not many have managed in 76 years of racing.

When he joined Mercedes in 2013, he was still a relatively fresh-faced 27-year-old, and had been criticised heavily for making the bold switch from McLaren.

That would go on to become one of the best decisions of his life, but fast-forward 13 years, and the same doubts are now being raised about his move to Ferrari. He’s running out of time to prove people wrong, this time.

Serena Williams thinks Hamilton is the ‘greatest driver’ of an entire generation, and his numbers are further proof of that.

So many people have been in awe of him over the years. Samuel L Jackson felt Hamilton was ‘robbed’ after the 2021 Abu Dhabi finale, and it’s a debate that spread far and wide.

Lewis Hamilton was surprised by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s height at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has praised Brad Pitt and is a lot more involved with the celebrity scene nowadays than he has been in years prior, thanks to his involvement in things such as the Formula 1 movie and fashion.

There was once a time when celebrities would be one of the main features of a race weekend, alongside the racing action, rather than being an afterthought.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger was trusted with doing the podium interviews at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix – a move normally conducted by pundits or ex-race drivers, it was a move that brought a smile to everyone’s face.

His interaction with race-winner Hamilton, fresh off the back of his second title-winning campaign in 2014, was golden.

“It’s an incredible feeling, obviously, to continue on from last year [2014], but also to be up here with you, man. I thought you were taller! I thought that he was taller on the Terminator,” said Hamilton.

“I’m not wearing my high heels,” Schwarzenegger replied.

What were the race results at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix?

The opening race of the 2015 season produced a fairly standard affair. A Mercedes one-two was fairly common for the time, while a debut podium for Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari produced some excitement.

Just 15 cars started the race, courtesy of the missing Manor Marussia cars, an injured Valtteri Bottas, and reliability issues for Daniil Kvyat and Kevin Magnussen.

Max Verstappen’s Formula 1 debut would end painfully, as he suffered an engine failure while running in sixth place.

Just five drivers finished on the lead lap, and 11 were classified, in a display that would shock the newer generation of fans, used to seeing almost every car make the finish at every event.
