Mike LaFleur is joining Chris Shula and Nate Scheelhaase as Los Angeles Rams assistants who are garnering interest as head coaching candidates. The Rams offensive coordinator will interview with the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals this week for their head coaching jobs, according to Peter Schrager of ESPN.
Shula has three head coaching interviews lined up and Scheelhaase has one, as well, so the Rams’ top assistants are gaining steam as top candidates this hiring cycle.
LaFleur has been the Rams’ offensive coordinator for the last three seasons, joining Sean McVay’s staff in 2023 after a stint with the Jets. He called plays in New York but hasn’t held that responsibility with the Rams, given McVay’s role as the play caller.

The Rams kept all of their coordinators last offseason, with LaFleur, Shula and Chase Blackburn returning. But there’s a chance at least one of Shula and LaFleur will leave this year.
