The Oklahoma City Thunder are still the best team in the league. They hit their stride earlier in the season when they had a 24-1 record with their only loss coming against the Portland Trail Blazers.
That all changed in December when they suffered multiple losses, including three separate defeats to the San Antonio Spurs. It appears that coach Mark Daigneault and his team use those losses as motivation.
Williams’ thoughts on the Thunder bouncing back
As one of the most loaded teams in the NBA, the Thunder have been the favorites to win the championship before the season started. They are the defending champions, so recent history shows they are already capable.
Due to a slow December by their standards, people thought the Thunder were showing numerous weaknesses. However, January has been a great month for the Thunder again. This includes a blowout win over their tormentors, the Spurs.

As a player who has been adjusting all season, Jalen Williams knows the Thunder are doing well now. It has been a long time coming because some people were getting worried about the Thunder.
It turns out that they were still getting their engines warm. Now, it appears they are the best team in the league again, and they are becoming more confident.
“We’ve been a lot healthier, which is a big one. So everybody’s settling into a role more. Guys know the minutes that we’re going to have,” Williams said after the Thunder’s latest win that took their streak to five.
“I think that was our big one. And that’s just how we go about our process of winning the games and winning them to our standards.”
Moving forward, the Thunder will continue to be one of the best teams in the league. They are the favorites to win it all again, and with this recent winning streak, they might be even more confident in their chances.
As they get healthier with their roster, the Thunder will keep being a tough matchup. While other teams have scouted them well, like the Spurs, the Thunder can still unlock a new level, which is scary for the rest of the NBA.
