The transfer window closed yesterday, and it’s safe to say that Penn State has had quite the transfer haul.
According to a university release, the Nittany Lions signed an incredible 39 players through the transfer portal. What’s even more impressive is that 24 of them came from new coach’s Matt Campbell’s previous home, Iowa State. 2 came from UCLA to follow defensive coordinator D’anton Lynn and 13 represented other schools.
The crown jewel of the class is obviously Campbell’s former QB1 Rocco Becht. He comes to Penn State having played 39 career games, the most of any QB returner in 2026. His understudy will be former four-star recruit and redshirt freshman Alex Manske, who also was a former Cyclone.
There was still one more name to be added to the list for the Nittany Lions’ transfer class on Friday. Iowa State linebacker John Klosterman, who only played in seven games last season and recorded five tackles, announced his commitment. The redshirt senior and former walk-on joins a very crowded LB room.
While less impressive than their transfer class, Penn State’s recruiting class does have some elite talent, including four star QB Peyton Falzone and and edge talent Jackson Ford.
Penn State, despite its fantastic portal work, still could be adding some players to their ranks. Players who have still not committed are still out there and there are also several high school recruits to be looked at as well.
For now though, the bulk of Penn State’s offseason is complete.
