Footage of Fernando Vargas Jr and his brother Amado Vargas fighting in a hotel lobby is picking up steam online.

The 29-year-old was last seen in the ring on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, where he faced Irish boxer Callum Walsh.

Before that bout, Fernando Vargas Jr. held an unbeaten record of 17-0 and was considered a promising prospect in the 154lb division.

Fighting runs deep in the American boxer’s family. His father, Fernando Vargas Sr., was a former world champion who went up against names like Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya. His brothers, Emiliano and Amado, have also chosen to step into the professional ranks.

Instead of news about an upcoming fight, it was clips of Fernando and his younger brother Amado involved in a scrap in a Las Vegas hotel lobby that made the rounds recently.

The reason behind the clash has not been confirmed, though fans online have been quick to throw out their own theories.

“This isn’t sad, every sibling gets into fights with each other,” said one fan.

“This is truly sad. Shame on Jr. for being the oldest acting this way,” wrote another commenter.

One fan suggested: “This had to be over a female.”

Another posted: “I’m never fighting my siblings in front of people, that’s embarrassing. I know Fernando Sr is p—– they out here shaming his last name.”

“Damn. Emiliano is the only one with talent from those guys,” commented another.

With a current record of 16-0, Emiliano Vargas is set to challenge for both the NABF and WBO Latino super lightweight titles on February 28.
