What Tom Izzo had to say about Michigan State's win over Oregon

I’ve watched enough Tom Izzo press conferences to know that just because his team won 68-52 on the road on the second game of a long West Coast road trip, doesn’t mean he’s going to be all sunshine and rainbows after the game. After Michigan State basketball’s win over Oregon, Izzo was complimentary of Oregon, and a little frustrated with his own team.

You can see what he had to say about Michigan State after the Oregon win below:

  • “I didn’t think we looked tired; I thought we looked out of sync,” Izzo said about the offense, saying it then affected their team defense as well.
  • Izzo came away impressed with Oregon, and sympathized with head coach Dana Altman, who is missing their two leading scorers: “If I took out my two best players, my two leading scorers. I thought those guys bounced back and played well against Michigan and then played well against us.”
  • “That’s a lot to overcome. I thought those guys played their tails off. … They played hard, and they played well.”
  • Izzo ends the press conference addressing the Oregon media, and presumably, their fans: “Hang in there with this guy (Dana Altman), those two injuries, ugh, they are big.”
