The San Francisco 49ers have officially been eliminated from the postseason after falling to the Seattle Seahawks in on Saturday at Lumen Field.
While some teams are looking for a new head coach and/or general manager, the 49ers are set in both of those departments. With that, they have a few people working underneath those positions who are candidates for jobs with other teams.
Among those candidates is 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Atlanta Falcons have requested to interview Williams for their open general manager job.
Williams joined the 49ers scouting department in 2011 as an assistant. He served as an area scout for five years and a national scout for two before taking on his current role in 2025.
Atlanta is not the first team to request to speak with Williams, as the Miami Dolphins did as well before they hired Jon-Eric Sullivan.
