All eyes have been on Robert Saleh’s search for the Tennessee Titans’ offensive coordinator, but the new coach has an entire staff to fill out. He is starting that process by interviewing Aaron Whitecotton for defensive coordinator, according to Jeremy Fowler.
Titans requested to interview Cowboys DL coach Aaron Whitecotton for their defensive coordinator opening, per source.

Whitecotton was Saleh’s defensive line coach with the New York Jets. They also coached together on Gus Bradley’s staff with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2014-2016. He interviewed for the Cowboys DC job before the team hired Christian Parker from the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday.
Saleh is reportedly going to call the defensive plays with the Titans. That makes this hire less important than it would be if he were hiring a playcaller. Whitecotton has over 10 years of NFL experience, but has never been a coordinator before.
If he does get the job, he will likely be the only first-time coordinator on the staff. We know they are keeping Bones Fassel as the special teams coordinator, and there is no shot Saleh hires an offensive coordinator who has never done that job before.
