The Seahawks are back in the NFC championship game for the first time since 2015, the year they beat the Packers 28-22 in overtime, but fell to the Patriots 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX.
The Seahawks destroyed the 49ers in the NFC divisional round, 41-6. It was the third meeting this year of the NFC West division opponents, with each team having won one game previously.
Leading up to the game, quarterback Sam Darnold was dealing with an oblique issue and went into the weekend listed as questionable. He played in the game, but only threw 17 passes. Darnold completed 12 of them for 124 yards with a touchdown.
The Seahawks were led by running back Kenneth Walker III who had 116 yards with three touchdowns. Backup running back Zach Charbonnet tore his ACL was ruled out for the rest of the season.
