The 8 Georgia Bulldogs in Championship Sunday

We know that at least two Georgia Bulldogs will make it to Super Bowl 60. The NFC is guaranteed to have at least two former Dawgs in the Super Bowl, which will be played in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, Feb. 8.

Overall, there will be eight former Georgia players and coaches participating in Championship Sunday. The only team without a former Dawg is the Denver Broncos, who will host the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game at 3 p.m. ET (CBS). The Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC championship at 6:30 p.m. ET (FOX).

Most notably, the Rams are led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is playing some of the best football of his career. Stafford is an MVP candidate and already has two playoff wins under his belt this postseason. Los Angeles has gotten great play from tackle Warren McClendon this year.

The Rams will play the No. 1 seed Seahawks. Seattle has had a breakout season thanks to an elite defense under head coach Mike Macdonald, a former Georgia graduate and assistant coach during the Mark Richt era.

In the AFC championship, former Georgia running back Thomas Brown has drawn head coach interest for his role as the tight ends coach and passing game coordinator for the Patriots. New England starting rookie offensive lineman Jared Wilson deserves some love after helping solidify the Patriots’ once woeful line.
