Texas A&M’s 2025 season ended with a sting no one in College Station expected. After entering the NCAA Tournament as the nation’s No. 1 team and Co‑SEC champions, the Aggies were stunned in their own regional—one of the most shocking exits in recent college softball history.
But a new year brings a new roster, a clean slate, and a program determined to turn heartbreak into fuel as it charges into the 2026 campaign.
Under Ford’s leadership, the Aggies have undergone a true resurgence. She has restored the program’s national relevance, engineered one of its strongest regular seasons in decades, and re‑established the standard that Texas A&M softball is built to contend. And while last year’s postseason fell short of expectations, the foundation she’s laid leaves no doubt: College Station is once again a place where championships are within reach.
“I think we have the opportunities here to do what we need to do to be successful. I’ve had a lot of talks. Trev’s probably tired of hearing me.”
“My whole thing to him is like the reason why I came here is because of the resources and the support that I know that we can do here, and I know we can be really good consistently in softball. So, he’s on board with me and so he’s on board for us to have the resources, to be competitive.”
This season marks a bit of a soft reset for the program, with an influx of new faces and a young roster still learning to mesh. Early on, players will be shifting into different roles and positions
“I think this year it’s going to we’re going to be reloading, but I also feel like we’re going to compete, and I love the underdog, mentality of like, okay, you know, we’re 14, that’s fine. We’re just going to put our heads down and work. I think we’re in a good spot. I think we’re going to surprise some people, and I think we’re going to have some bumps this year, but I do think we have the pieces to be really competitive.”

The Aggies will open up the season against ACU on February 5 during the first day of the Aggie Classic at Davis Diamond in Bryan-College Station.
