There is currently no high school prospect that Notre Dame won’t go after, and on Monday afternoon, they proved that once again.
The Irish sent out an offer to one of the nation’s top 2028 players in Florida cornerback A’mir Sears. The 6-foot, 1-inch and 162-pounder is ranked as the country’s No. 3 overall prospect and top cornerback by the 247Sports Composite.
Sears has a massive scholarship list at this point of his high school career as the majority of top programs have already sent out an offer. Notre Dame entering the fold now gives him over 30, with Oregon, USC and North Carolina also getting added to his list earlier this month.
In a recent recruiting update by 247Sports Tom Loy (subscription required), he named Miami, Texas A&M, LSU, Florida and Indiana near the top of his list, but that was before Sears got his Notre Dame offer. Hopefully this pushes the Irish closer to those teams, and if they can get him on campus soon, they’ll be right in the mix for his commitment.
