Two former Spartan hockey stars to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics

Michigan State hockey will be represented at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. With rosters being announced for the 12 teams that will be competing in the tournament, two former Spartans have been revealed for the upcoming games.

Wojciech Stachowiak will be representing Germany, while Dustin Gazley will be playing for the host Italian team.

Stachowiak, a member of the MSU program from 2018-2020, has been playing professionally in Germany’s top league, the DEL. This current season, though, he is back in the United States playing for the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL. He has represented Germany in the last three World Championships, and will now get to take the ice in the Olympics.

Gazley will get the honor to play on team Italy in the Olympics, the host of this year’s games. A member of MSU from 2007-2011, he has had a nice professional career playing in the AHL for six seasons before moving internationally, where he has been playing in Italy. He has been a part of the Italian international team since 2023.

Hockey in Milan will begin on Feb. 11.
