GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kimberly 51, Appleton East 46

KIMBERLY – Ava Van Vonderen scored 15 points and had seven rebounds and Claudia Asman hit four 3-pointers and had a key block late in the second half to lead the Papermakers past Appleton East.

The win ties the Papermakers with Appleton East atop the Fox Valley Association with 11-1 records. Kimberly is 14-3 overall.

Asman finished with 12 points and blocked a layup attempt in the final minute to help deny East and preserve the win.

Emily Urban also had 11 points for Kimberly. Aubrie Erickson had 11 points to pace the Patriots (15-2 overall).

Awut Alic led the Spartans with 17 points, while Brinna Paulson added 10.

Jade Demerath-Cook and Allysen Buss led the Terrors with five points each.
