UNC basketball lands in updated Bracketology

The North Carolina Tar Heels faced a pivotal week with games against Notre Dame at home and then Virginia on the road last week. They answered with a 2-0 week including adding another Quad 1 victory to their resume.

After back-to-back losses out west, North Carolina slipped in Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology. But now, after the 2-0 week, where do the Tar Heels stand? Well, they didn’t really move.

Lunardi updated his Bracketology on Tuesday, and he has North Carolina staying as a No. 6 seed. The Tar Heels are slotted in the Midwest Region and opening up the tournament in Greenville. Lunardi has them facing off against No. 11 Miami (Ohio) who is currently 20-0 as January is wrapping up.

This is North Carolina’s lowest seed in over a month now and they have been as high as a No. 4 seed.

For North Carolina, the region includes No. 1 Michigan, No. 2 Iowa State, No. 3 Purdue and No. 4 Florida in the latest projections.

Now, this will certainly change between now and Selection Sunday but it does appear that UNC has a lot of work to do to improve their seeding.
