Texas A&M basketball is no longer the NCAA’s best‑kept secret or just the SEC’s feel‑good story of the year. The Aggies are a legitimate tournament team, and when the new polls drop on Monday, it’s hard to imagine they won’t break into the Top 25. Saturday’s 92–77 road win over Georgia only strengthened that case.
At this point, it’s also fair to say that if Texas A&M continues its surge through the back half of SEC play, first‑year head coach Bucky McMillan will be firmly in the SEC Coach of the Year conversation. The growth of this roster has been remarkable, and senior forward Rashaun Agee continues to anchor the Aggies with the consistency of an All‑SEC performer. Agee recorded his 10th double‑double of the season with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists — coming within a whisper of a triple‑double.
The Aggies played one of their most complete offensive games of the season, placing five players in double figures and shooting an elite 19‑of‑20 from the free‑throw line. Outside of a few untimely turnovers and a brief cold stretch from deep, Texas A&M never surrendered the lead and cruised to its fourth straight SEC victory.
Hope has officially shifted into expectation. With another double‑digit Quad 1 win, the Aggies continue to build a résumé that looks more and more tournament‑ready. For a team projected to finish in the bottom half of the league, sitting at 7–1 in SEC play after eight games is nothing short of extraordinary.
Below are some of the best reactions from the Aggies’ road win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
From a story to a team that demands respect
I think Texas A&M basketball is no longer just a fun story, but a legitimate team that demands respect.
Super impressive first season for Bucky McMillan and Co.

Huge Quad 1 road win
How about a fifteen-point Q1 road win for your SEC-leading @aggiembk?!?!?
Next up? @BuckyBasketball heads home as the Ags travel to Alabama for a high-stakes battle vs the Tide.

Coach Bucky McMillan is on his way to SEC Coach of the Year
In a balanced year for the SEC, Bucky McMillan is the league’s breakout star. Texas A&M moves to 17-4 with a convincing win over Georgia. Only loss in conference play was in OT at Tennessee.

This might not last long
Don’t Rank Us

A Top 25 ranking is in the cards
Don’t mind being slept on at all, but this Texas A&M team is UNDOUBTEDLY a top-25 team right now.
It’s not even a question.

Aggie basketball is one of the hottest teams in all of college basketball
Not many college basketball teams that are playing as well as the Aggies, which are 15-2 over their last 17 games and 10-1 over their last 11. Would think A&M will be ranked for the first time this season when the next AP Poll comes out Monday. https://t.co/7KV4vhFWZn

Coach Bucky went to bat for Agee, and it’s paying off
Remember how much heat Bucky McMillan got at the time for this take? It looked outrageous at the time, but Rashaun Agee has been an outstanding get.
18 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists today. Texas A&M is 7-1 in the SEC after a runaway road win over Georgia. https://t.co/fEGLcrNhWr

I’m not sure anyone saw this coming
First-year Texas A&M coach Bucky McMillan has done an incredible job this season.
Aggies in first place in the SEC at 7-1 after another road win, this one in Athens.
Texas A&M have road wins over Auburn, Texas and now Georgia.

For a team picked to finish at the bottom, I’d say they are above schedule

Quick turnaround for a new team
Aggies are 17-4 and on track for the tournament with a roster that was thrown together in like four days after most of the top portal guys were already gone. Bucky is proving quickly that he translates. https://t.co/fqcGUPbvYq

Cut out the noise, the Aggies are playing good basketball
Texas A&M wins at Georgia 92-77, to improve to 17-4, 7-1 in the SEC
Had heard talk this week, A&M has “played the easiest SEC schedule.”
Non-sense.
Just watch the games. Well-coached team. Clear identity. Already won at Auburn.
VERY much an SEC title contender pic.twitter.com/7Y1In2cIA9
