It’s been a long three games for the Boilermakers with the team going 0-3 all against Big Ten competition. What looked like a sure fire battle for a Big Ten championship has changed into a battle to stay alive in the conference race. Purdue needs to be nearly perfect in these remaining games if they have any hope of walking away with a share of the Big Ten title. It seems unlikely right now the way that Purdue has been playing especially when you couple that with the great play of Michigan and Nebraska especially. Regardless, the first step in that journey starts today as Purdue faces Maryland in College Park. You can check out Casey’s preview for a more detailed look.

So come and join your fellow Boilermaker fans in our fan discussion (formerly known as the open thread) as we talk about Purdue versus the Maryland, don’t call us turtles, Terrapins. Seriously, don’t call them the turtles, they don’t like that. Given that Maryland sits at 1-8 in conference play I don’t expect the crowd to be too raucous. As someone who lived in Maryland for over a decade I’ll just say their fans are great…when the team is. Otherwise, they are late arriving and not that loud. Let’s hope they don’t make me look foolish!
