Only one African player is set to discover the Premier League after being signed during the latest winter transfer window.

We’re talking about Ivorian right winger Jocelin Ta Bi, snapped up by Sunderland for a fee of €4 million.

• A product of Jeunesse Club d’Abidjan, Jocelin Ta Bi made his first-team debut at just 18 years old.

• His contract with Sunderland runs through 2030, with an option for an additional year.

• His market value is currently estimated at €375,000, but it’s expected to soar with the next update on the specialist site Transfermarkt.
• After suffering an ankle injury, he’ll have to wait before making his Premier League debut.
• He has yet to be called up to the Ivorian national team, but is expected to be on coach Emerse Faé’s radar soon, with an eye on World Cup participation.
