Kenneth Walker stats: How former Michigan State RB performed in Super Bowl win

Former Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III was one of the best players on the field at the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 8.

The former Doak Walker Award winner rushed for a game-high 135 yards on 27 carries in Seattle’s 29-13 win over New England at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. He also caught two passes for 26 yards and became one of three players with multiple runs of 25 yards or more in the Super Bowl, joining Marcus Allen and Timmy Smith.

The one-year Spartans standout was an X-factor for the Seahawks throughout their playoff run. He finished with 145 total yards and three touchdowns in Seattle’s win over the 49ers in the NFC Divisional round, then racked up 111 yards and a score in the Seahawks’ win against the Rams in the NFC Championship.

He also had a long touchdown run called back due to a holding penalty in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl.

Walker III started his career at Wake Forest before transferring to Michigan State in 2021. He rushed for 1,636 yards with 18 touchdowns in his lone season with the Spartans, and is best known for his 197-yard, 5-touchdown performance in Michigan State’s upset win over Michigan in 2021.
