Security Escorts Streaker Off the Field at Super Bowl 2026 After Patriots Player Helps Stop Him

NEED TO KNOW

  • A streaker ran onto the field at the 2026 Super Bowl and was tackled near the 10-yard line
  • Another individual attempted the same stunt but was tackled before they got to the field
  • A similar incident took place in 2021, which ended in probation, fines and community service for two men

Near the end of a fairly quiet game, the fourth quarter of the 2026 Super Bowl saw some unexpected action.

In the fourth quarter of the game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, a spectator jumped onto the turf and sprinted down the field while shirtless. Patriots’ wide receiver Kyle Williams joined at least five security guards in chasing down the streaker, who slipped and fell around the 10-yard line.

The slip-up allowed security guards to catch up to the individual and tackle them, and the spectator appeared to be placed in handcuffs before they were escorted off the field.

During the commotion of the first streaker, another spectator also attempted to run onto the field but was tackled before they could do so.

This isn’t the first time there have been streaking incidents at the Super Bowl. In 2021, also during the game’s fourth quarter, an individual ran onto the field between members of the two opposing teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The spectator appeared to be wearing a one-piece hot pink swimsuit with black athletic shorts as they dashed down the field at Raymond James Stadium. The sprint was short-lived as security guards caught up to the individual and tackled them.

“We’ve got a fan on the field,” said commentator Jim Nantz, adding, “One of the great runs of the night, I will say that. They should sign them!”

Following the incident that disrupted the game (which the Buccaneers won 31-9 against the Chiefs), the streaker who wore the pink swimsuit and another reported streaker both pled no contest to trespassing charges, the Tampa Bay Times reported in 2021.

As punishment, the two men received one year of probation, during which they had to complete 100 hours of community service. In addition, the two individuals had to pay $500 fines and write an apology letter to the NFL.

“I think you can tell by now, what might have been amusing back during the Super Bowl was not very amusing,” Hillsborough County Judge Jack Gutman told the individuals, Tampa Bay Times reported at the time. “It inconvenienced a lot of people. You exposed people to injury. And hopefully, you learned your lesson about all this. It’s not funny at all.”

Per Chiefs Wire, the two men had planned the incident beforehand, with the first acting as a distraction so the second could also jump onto the field.

The stunt reportedly resulted in one of the men profiting from a bet made on Bovada, an online sports betting site. Following the incident, per TMZ, the platform investigated the incident and found “betting irregularities,” so Bovada refunded all losing bets and “all those ‘YES’ wagers we’ve determined to have had no part in the betting irregularities.”
