Texas A&M basketball experienced a Valentine’s Day heartbreak on Saturday afternoon, as the program dropped its fourth-straight SEC contest against the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Aggies struggled to find a rhythm against another physical conference squad, which has been a consistent theme in the recent string of losses. Inconsistent free-throw shooting and foul trouble in the second half prevented Texas A&M from inching its way back into the contest. Bucky McMillan’s unit closed the gap with five minutes remaining, but Vanderbilt’s Tyler Nickel could not be stopped, as he knocked down five three-pointers and scored 25 points against the Aggies.
Now, Texas A&M must turn its attention to Ole Miss, which will visit Reed Arena on Wednesday night. There is still much basketball left to be played, but March Madness hopes continue to fall with each conference loss.
Here are some of the best social media reactions from the Aggies’ 82-69 loss against the Commodores on Saturday:

Stats from the loss
Texas A&M falls, 82-69, at No. 19 Vanderbilt to extend its losing skid to four games. Marcus Hill impressed with a team-high 20 points, but almost everything else went wrong for the Aggies. They shot 38.9% overall and 27.6% from 3, and gave up 46 points in the second half. pic.twitter.com/bsOzTrjkmB

Losing streak continues in SEC play
With a road loss to Vanderbilt, A&M has lost 4 straight games. It was noted that the 5 game stretch they just finished would be the most difficult of their season and it proved to be exactly that.
It’s essential that they rebound with a home victory over Ole Miss on Wednesday…

Marcus Hill shines in the loss
Marcus Hill was the lone bright spot for A&M today with 20 points. Pretty clear he’s the driving force of this offense when he’s healthy.
The rest of the starting lineup (Griffen, Lane, Dominguez, Agee) combined for 19 points on 21.9% FG%.
A&M won’t beat anyone with that output

Aggies struggle to stop Dores
The good news: A&M took Tyler Tanner away. Season low 4 points.
The bad news: A&M couldn’t stop anyone else. Vandy hit 9 3’s and 21 FT’s.
Nickel has 25, Okereke has 21, McGlockton has 17.
Really bad defense and poor shooting stretches have been the theme on this losing streak.

Poor overall performance from the Aggies
Not a good performance by Texas A&M basketball. It’s now a four-game losing streak with Ole Miss coming up.
