Last month, it was reported that USC secondary coach Doug Belk will not be returning to the Trojans in 2026. Recently, we learned where he will be coaching next fall.
On Saturday, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported that the NFL’s Denver Broncos are set to hire Belk. He will join the team as their defensive backs coach.
Belk is the second USC assistant coach to take an NFL job this offseason. He joins defensive line coach Eric Henderson, who was recently hired by the Washington Commanders.
Belk served as USC’s secondary coach for the past two seasons. Prior to that, he coached defensive backs at Houston and West Virginia.
Unlike with Henderson, the Trojans will not need to conduct a search for Belk’s replacement. USC recently hired Paul Gonzales, who previously worked with new defensive coordinator Gary Patterson at TCU, as defensive backs coach.
