Amber Glenn bounces back in Olympics short program: Social media reactions

Amber Glenn left everything out there on the ice Thursday in the women’s free skate at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

And wow, what a performance it was for the U.S. figure skater, who experienced a painful short program just two days ago inside the Milano Ice Skating Arena that had her placed 13th on the leaderboard heading into Thursday’s event.

Glenn’s free skate performance included a spectacular triple axel, the hardest jump on the women’s side, and put her in first place in Thursday’s portion of the women’s singles event with a score of 147.52 to finish with a total of 214.91.

Glenn opened with a triple axel that reached an incredible height and earned her 10.40 points, 0.34 higher than her short program triple axel.

In the Kiss-and-Cry section inside the arena while awaiting her scores, NBC’s broadcast caught Glenn saying, “I’m at the Olympics. I didn’t fall. I didn’t fall at the Olympics.”

Glenn’s performance and response had her receiving extra flowers and applause from those on social media who were watching.
