Everything You Need To Know About the 2025-26 UCF Men’s Golf Team

The UCF Knights Men’s Golf team once again had no representatives in the NCAA Tournament last season.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Knights as they start the spring portion of their 2025-26 season:

How College Golf Works

Each school has five golfers playing for the overall team score. While a school can enter more than five players in a tournament, if they do so, the extra players have to be entered as individuals and will not count toward the team’s score.

A team’s total score comes from combining the scores of each of the golfers and subtracting the highest score.

The team with the lowest score after three rounds is the winner.

Last Season

14th in Big 12 Tournament

While the Knights did pick up a win at the ECU Intercollegiate and a run-up finish at South Alabama, they could not keep up the momentum going into the season’s final two tournaments, resulting in once again being left without any representation in the NCAA Tournament.

This Season

Ranked #135 in the nation entering Spring

During their fall slate, the Knights had three tournaments that saw them shoot double-digits under par, even getting a runner-up finish at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic. However, it was not enough to get them ranked inside the Top 100 going into their spring.

Who’s in Charge

Bryce Wallor – 17th season at UCF

Since Wallor was hired back in 2009, he has taken the Knights to at least an NCAA Regional seven times as a team. Add three more seasons in which players earned individual bids to an NCAA Regional, and that’s 10 out of 16 seasons (one of which was cut short due to the pandemic) that Wallor has coached at least one Knight into the postseason.

However, last season, the Knights were once again not represented in the NCAA Tournament, just as it was in 2024, which was the first NCAA Tournament since 2016 in which there was no UCF Knight representation.

What to Watch For

The Win-Loss Record

Yes, there is a win-loss record for college golf teams. It is based on the number of teams you beat. So, for instance, if UCF finishes sixth in a field of 11 teams, they would beat five teams and “lose” to five teams, meaning their record for the tournament is 5-5.

Why is this important? The NCAA has a rule where teams have to finish above .500 in order to be selected for the NCAA Tournament. UCF’s win-loss record, which currently sits at 23-32-1 can be tracked on their SCOREBOARD page here.

Golfer to Watch

Clemente Silva

While Clemente Silva did not have the best fall with only one finish inside the Top 20, he entered the spring with some positive momentum by picking up some high finishes in some professional events in his native South America, including a win in the Cachagua Open.

Who’s New That’s Good

Camden Goldknopf

Transferring in from William & Mary, Camden Goldknopf still has three years of eligibility he can use and is coming off a freshman campaign that saw him net three top 10 finishes individually.

He had a solid end to his fall slate with three finishes inside the Top 25.
