Notre Dame could have 2 running backs taken on Day 1 of the NFL draft

Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love may be getting a lot of the buzz from NFL draft combine but his backfield partner is making a case to be one of the first backs drafted as well.

Jadarian Price turned in an official 40-yard dash of 4.49 seconds, while posting a 35-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump that ranked near the top of all running backs in attendance. Coming into the draft there were questions about the reliability of his hands however he also had a solid showing in passing drills which may have answered those concerns.

Jadarian Price’s official numbers from the combine:

MEASUREMENTS

Height: 5-11Weight: 203-poundsArm Length: 30.5″Hand Size: 9.5″

TESTING NUMBERS

40-Yard: 4.4910-Yard: 1.52Vertical Jump: 35″Broad Jump: 10’4″

Analysts now view Price as potentially the second running back off the board in April’s draft. In particular, his lighter workload in college and special teams value is appealing to many NFL front offices. He has reportedly met with several team already including the Texans and Broncos who hold picks in the late first round. Most current mock drafts have Price projected to go in Round 2, often in the No. 38-60 range, however his impressive combine performance may have raised his profile and he could find himself getting drafted late in Round 1.

Price, the St. Louis native, averaged more yards per touch than Love in 2025 and finished with 674 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.
