LSU women’s basketball clinched a double bye in the SEC Tournament, which starts Wednesday in Greenville at Bon Secour’s Wellness Arena.
The Tigers, seeded fourth, will play at 1:30 p.m. CT in the quarterfinals. They will play Mississippi State, Florida or Oklahoma. The latter two play Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. CT and the winner will face the No. 5 Sooners at the same time Thursday.
Should LSU win on Friday, it would advance to the semifinals on Saturday and potentially play South Carolina. The Gamecocks play Georgia, Kentucky or Arkansas in its quarterfinal game on Friday.
A fourth-place finish in the conference put LSU among the likes of South Carolina, Texas and Vanderbilt, who also don’t play until Friday. The Tigers went 12-4 against SEC teams, losing their first two against Kentucky and Vanderbilt, then falling to the Longhorns and Gamecocks.

LSU has yet to win the SEC Tournament under head coach Kim Mulkey. Its last title came in 2003 when it beat Tennessee. The Tigers finished as the runner-up to South Carolina in 2024, when current LSU guard MiLaysia Fulwiley was named the tournament’s MVP.
