Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey Big Ten Tournament seed revealed

The Big Ten officially unveiled the full bracket for the men’s hockey tournament which begins on March 11.

The Wisconsin Badgers secured a No. 4 seed, meaning they get to host their first-round matchup against No. 5-seed Ohio State.

The quarterfinal showdown will take place at the Kohl Center on Wednesday, March 11, at 8:00 p.m. EST on Big Ten Plus.

All three of the first-round matchups will air on B1G+, while the semifinals and championship are set to be televised on the Big Ten Network.

For those unfamiliar, No. 1 Michigan State is the only team to advance to the second round. The Spartans will host the lowest remaining seed, which could be the Badgers.

Other first round matchups include:

  • No. 2 Michigan vs. No. 7 Notre Dame
  • No. 3 Penn State vs. No. 6 Minnesota

Both of those games will also take place on March 11, though each has a 7:00 p.m. EST start time.

MSU’s first-round bye means they don’t have to play until March 14. Should both the Wolverines and Nittany Lions win their first-round matchups, Wisconsin will play at Michigan State. If either Michigan or Penn State loses (or both), Wisconsin will play the highest remaining seed.

The Big Ten Championship takes place on March 21, ahead of the Frozen Four, which begins on March 26.
