The Denver Broncos released a veteran defender on Monday who should draw interest from multiple teams.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news that the Broncos are releasing linebacker Dre Greenlaw after just one season with the franchise.
Greenlaw appeared in just eight games in 2025 due to injuries and suspension.
“Source: The Broncos are releasing veteran LB Dre Greenlaw, a big-time physical presence in their defense,” Rapoport said.
It’s been a rough last few years for Greenlaw, who just can’t seem to stay on the field. However, he should still have a solid market in free agency, with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills being potential interested teams.
Philadelphia and Green Bay each lost one of their starting linebackers in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, as Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker will now man the middle of the Raiders’ defense. Those two NFC contenders could try to sign Greenlaw and see if he can revive his career.
New York, San Francisco, and Buffalo also have needs at linebacker and could pursue Greenlaw. The Giants signed Tremaine Edmunds, but could still make some moves in the position group.
We’ll see if Greenlaw can get back on track and find a new home in 2026. When healthy, he’s a high-energy player who provides a jolt to any defense he’s a part of.
