Tiger Woods has just tipped his scale of crashes once again.

The pro golfer is said to have been involved in a crash on Friday, March 27, 2026, and the incident took place in the same town where he lives in Florida. Details about the athlete’s state of health remain TBD, but authorities have wasted no time in slamming the 50-year-old with a DUI charge.

Tiger Woods, in recent years, has experienced an increasing number of accidents, injuries, and eventually surgeries. He walked out of a surgical theater last October and has spent the following months in recovery.

Woods was reportedly involved in a rollover car crash on Friday afternoon in Jupiter Island, Florida. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has yet to reveal the details of the cause of the crash and the condition of the pro-athlete’s health. Authorities are still carrying out investigations, and a schedule has been set for 5 p.m ET. with a county sheriff to speak with reporters.

As it stands, the details that have been shared about the crash reveal that it occurred just after 2 p.m., and an uploaded photo shows that the golfer’s SUV was turned on its driver’s side. ESPN reported that Woods was left with significant leg injuries after his previous car crash in February 2021. His automobile rolled over several times, leaving him trapped in the car.

After the accident, the star was hospitalized for three weeks following his emergency surgery. The golfer later stated that he was uncertain as to whether his right leg would be amputated. Woods had surgery to manage the open fractures he suffered in his lower right leg. The procedure involved placing a rod in the tibia with pins and screws inserted into the foot and ankle.

Woods Was Reportedly Arrested For DUI And Property Damage

Authorities were alerted after the crash, and investigations to determine the cause of the accident followed suit. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office held back on releasing a statement immediately after the crash, which took place around 2 p.m. A press conference held 3 hours later confirmed that the pro-athlete has now been charged with driving under the influence and property damage.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, who shared the update, noted that Woods refused to submit to a lawful test after the crash. According to PEOPLE, the Sheriff clarified that the golf champ did not consume alcohol, saying he “blew triple zeros” on a breathalyzer test; however, the star allegedly refused a urinalysis.

No alcohol or drugs were reportedly found in the vehicle, but authorities believe he was “not impaired by alcohol but possibly by medication or another substance.” Budensiek alleged that he appeared “lethargic” and showed signs of impairment. Woods was then placed under arrest and taken into custody at the Martin County Jail.

After his 2021 accident, Woods had to also undergo a follow-up surgery related to injuries from the crash two years later in April 2023. The athlete has spent the past several months recovering from another injury. He ruptured his Achilles tendon and was rolled into the theater in October. Due to his several wounds and recuperation times, the sportsman had to sit out of the courses for over a year.

He played for the first time in more than twelve months during the TGL finals on Tuesday. Before this recent game, the 15-time major champion went all out on the course in 2024. He competed on the PGA Tour in July 2024, where he played four rounds in a PGA Tour event at the 2024 Masters.

At his 2024 game, he missed the cut at the Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland, while in this year’s TGL finals, his team lost to the Los Angeles Golf Club. The champ reportedly has been weighing his options for next week’s Masters. Woods was considering returning ti the PGA Tour at Augusta National Golf Club for the first major of the season.

After the accident that almost claimed the star’s right leg, reports show that Woods suffered from a case of amnesia. He told first responders who rushed to his aid at the scene that he had no memory of driving before the crash.

The Blast covered the story then, revealing that the 50-year-old spoke to deputies, telling them that he could not recall getting into the car when he was asked, or how the collision occurred. The accident left Woods briefly unconscious before he was then transported to the hospital, where he was asked again for details he eventually could not provide.

Investigators obtained a search warrant to access the SUV’s “black box.” This was because the authorities needed to see some details about the car’s movement, like its speed, minutes before the crash. They also needed to rule out any form of suspected foul play, as they did not believe the champion was impaired while driving.

Just a little over a year ago, Woods lost his mother, who was a pivotal pillar of wisdom and support throughout his life and career. Kultida Woods attended her son’s last game on January 14 before her passing. The former world champion described his mother as a “force of nature,” highlighting her influence in helping him achieve his goals.

Woods shared an emotional post honoring his mother, praising her for her “undeniable spirit” and emphasizing how much she loved her family. He also reflected on the memories he had of Kultida. The athlete recalled that his mother strongly influenced his outfit choice for his games.

The Blast reported that Kultida believed her son’s power color was the color red, stemming from his zodiac sign, the Capricorn. She urged him always to wear red to his golf events, and he noticed that oftentimes when he rocked the color at his tournaments, he triumphed on the course. His mother’s death came almost two decades after the star lost his father, Earl Woods, to cancer.
