The confetti has fallen in Indianapolis, and March Madness is officially over. Luckily, we have something to help us remember the best moments for the rest of time.

The NCAA is releasing its annual “One Shining Moment” montage on Monday night, with Luther Vandross’ iconic rendition serving as the backdrop for the NCAA Tournament’s best moments. Originally written to be played after the Super Bowl, the song has instead been used for college basketball’s premier event since 1987.

The NCAA Tournament breaks hearts, but it always delivers in one form or another. This year was no exception. From Braylon Mullins’ iconic shot and Dylan Darling’s buzzer-beater to surprise wins by High Point and Iowa, there are no shortage of moments to remember fondly (or not so fondly, depending on which team you root for) in 2026.

Here’s the first look at “One Shining Moment” after Michigan won the national championship on Monday night.

This section will be updated when the video is released.

“One Shining Moment” typically airs 25-30 minutes after the national championship game ends. That puts it on track for about 11:50 p.m. ET, if not a few minutes earlier.

After the winning team celebrates at the final buzzer, it takes time for the trophy presentation ceremony and the net-cutting ceremony to play out. Only after the festivities are done does “One Shining Moment” air, and that gap also gives the production team time to splice in clips from the celebration.

Expect this year’s montage to be loaded with memorable moments from a tournament that was filled with them.

Braylon Mullins, Dylan Darling, Alvaro Folgueiras, Trey Kaufman-Renn all hit game-winning shots in the final seconds and will see themselves in the video, as will Otega Oweh for his long-range buzzer-beater to force overtime vs. Santa Clara. The final moments of High Point’s upset over Wisconsin, which included Chase Johnston’s first 2-pointer of the season, should find their way in, along with some of the best moments from VCU’s comeback win over North Carolina.

Tyler Tanner’s near-miss against Nebraska in the second round will certainly make an appearance, and Siena could receive some air time for its valiant effort against Duke in the first round. “One Shining Moment” always shows the dark side of March, so the devastation of players and coaches will be featured prominently.

Expect the montage to end with Ian Eagle’s call of the final seconds of the national championship game, as is tradition.
