The timing would be fitting. The MacBook Pro celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, and Apple could mark the milestone with a feature many believed would never come to the Mac. Touchscreen support would also help further differentiate the MacBook Pro from the MacBook Air and the rumoured budget-friendly MacBook Neo.
