More fear than harm for Nayef Aguerd. The Moroccan defender for Olympique de Marseille confirmed he was attacked on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Marseille-Provence airport as he was preparing to join the Moroccan national team for the international break.
On Instagram, the defender posted a story to reassure everyone, thanking security staff and law enforcement for their swift response:
I was indeed assaulted at Marignane airport while waiting for my flight to join the Moroccan national team. Fortunately, it was more of a scare than anything serious.

According to several media reports, a man approached the player in the VIP lounge, asking for a photo and his phone number before turning aggressive and trying to slap him. The individual was quickly subdued by police.
