In Week 7, the Alabama Crimson Tide will face a ranked opponent for the third consecutive game when the program travels to Columbia for a Top 25 showdown with the Missouri Tigers.
A talented team led by the nation’s leading rusher, Missouri currently sits undefeated at 5-0 overall (1-0 SEC) so far this season, and are currently coming off a bye week. The Tigers are led by head coach Eliah Drinkwitz, and will be looking to avenge a 34-0 loss to the Crimson Tide a year ago in Tuscaloosa.
As for Alabama, the Crimson Tide are coming off back-to-back impressive wins over Georgia and Vanderbilt to now sit at 4-1 overall (2-0 SEC). Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide are starting to fully click as well, led by an offense that is headlined by one of the nation’s top Heisman contenders at the moment.
Here is who Roll Tide Wire predicts winning Alabama vs. Missouri on Saturday afternoon in Columbia.
Matt Melton’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 34, Missouri Tigers 23
The toughest test yet for Missouri, Alabama should present multiple problems for the Tigers in this game, especially on offense where the Crimson Tide are one of the nation’s top passing teams. Coming off a bye week, Missouri will have some success against the Crimson Tide though, especially when running the ball, but Alabama is still likely the better team here, and I’ll say that they get another big victory over a ranked SEC opponent Saturday.
Steve Holley’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 31, Missouri Tigers 30
This game has all the makings of a shootout that the offense will have to win. Alabama’s offense has been on fire, and Missouri keeps putting up points as well. In the Tigers’ case, they’ve faced fewer quality opponents than Alabama thus far, but nothing about their play has failed to impress. I hope I’m wrong and it doesn’t come down to this, but I have Alabama either winning or losing on someone’s field goal or missed kick at the end. Hope for the best.
Separate gripe: Why is this game at 11 a.m. CT when both teams are a combined 9-1? This doesn’t exactly scream “Jefferson Pilot Sports kickoff” to me.
Rob King’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 34, Missouri Tigers 31
Alabama wins 34-31. Tight game, both teams commit turnovers, and both team miss field goal kicks. Alabama has a couple of big plays on special teams. Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams are too much for Missouri. Ty has another great game. Alabama passing attack is too much. Alabama forced to make halftime adjustments to slow down Missouri offense.
Jake Boico’s prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 31, Missouri Tigers 28
Missouri is one of the most underrated teams in the country. I expect a hard fought, back and fourth battle between two high powered offenses. Alabama’s defense will have to put emphasis on stopping Missouri’s ground game as Ahmad Hardy is one of the more explosive backs in all of college football. I believe Alabama will narrowly escape Faurot Field with a 31-28 victory as both programs could continue to go back and forth throughout the entirety of the afternoon.
