The Tennessee Titans (1-4) head to Las Vegas on Sunday to face the Raiders (1-4). Although both teams have struggled this season, the Titans have just ended a losing streak, while the Raiders continued theirs this past Sunday.
The Raiders likely view this as a get-right game, while the Titans look to continue their win streak. This seems like an even matchup.
Here are three reasons for optimism for the Titans in Week 6.
Confidence has returned
For the Titans, their win last week restored a simple yet crucial feeling: Confidence. It started in the fourth quarter with L’Jarius Sneed’s chase down of Cardinals running back Emari Demercado. It didn’t affect the play directly, but he led by example. From that point onwards, the team started to believe. Through belief, they manifested what was in store for the rest of the fourth quarter. There was a big vibe improvement to be observed in the Titans’ regular weekly interviews, too. Belief and confidence can carry this team far with the talent this team has, and the team is hoping it continues in this game.
Pass game starting to click
The massive spark of the Titans’ comeback and confidence last week was inarguably the passing game. After spurts of passing brilliance in previous games, the Titans finally put it together over the course of a quarter. Outside of the interception with a fortuitous result, Cam Ward was throwing with timing, anticipation, and the required accuracy.

Callahan displayed cognizance of how to maintain the pass game momentum in this presser, which is a massively encouraging sign.
Raiders’ sloppiness
The Las Vegas Raiders have had a sloppy start to their season. Entering Week 6, the team is second in turnovers. Geno Smith is responsible for 9/10 with his interceptions. The team is 30th in points for, with 16.6 per game on average, and they’re tied for fourth in sacks allowed. The Raiders’ offense is sputtering. This is a pristine opportunity for the Titans’ upbeat defense led by surging Cedric Gray and defensive player of the year candidate Jeffery Simmons.
