Garret Wallow’s getting healthy at an important time for the Denver Broncos.
Wallow (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday, opening his 21-day window to return from injured reserve. If he is not activated to the 53-man roster within three weeks, Wallow will have to spend the rest of the season on IR.
The Broncos designated Wallow to return on Wednesday, and if all goes well, he could be activated in time for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. That would be a timely return for Denver after Alex Singleton underwent successful surgery for testicular cancer and Karene Reid was placed on IR with a hamstring injury.
The Broncos currently have just two healthy inside linebackers on the active roster — Dre Greenlaw and Justin Strnad — plus Levelle Bailey and Jordan Turner on the practice squad. Even if Wallow is activated to the 53-man roster later this week, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one of Bailey or Turner also elevated to the game-day roster for the Chiefs game.
