This ranking falls behind fellow Big Ten foes, including No. 1 Michigan, No. 5 Purdue, No. 10 Illinois, No. 11 Nebraska, and No. 14 Michigan State.

According to the rankings, 8-0 against Quad 4 programs, 1-0 against Quad 3, 3-1 against Quad 2, but 0-3 when facing Quad 1 opponents. Those three Quad 1 losses were against Michigan State and Iowa State on the road, and Illinois at home. The setback against Minnesota is the lone Quad 2 defeat.
Iowa’s schedule this week does not get any easier, but it also presents an outstanding opportunity to secure both a high-quality Quad 1 and 2 win, as the Hawkeyes travel to Mackey Arena to face Purdue on Jan. 14 and then head to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to battle Indiana on Jan. 17.
Purdue ranks No. 6 in the NET rankings and Indiana is the nation’s No. 34 team.
