NFL executive thinks Broncos might be better with QB Jarrett Stidham

The Denver Broncos are on the brink of their first Super Bowl appearance after a thrilling win against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. However, they received heartbreaking news: Bo Nix will be out for the rest of the playoffs due to an ankle injury. Of course, a crushing blow to their Super Bowl title hopes.

But not so fast, according to Mike Sando of The Athletic, a rival executive believes backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham could be an upgrade over Nix. Fair? Check out his take below.

“He is going to do whatever he can to make the quarterback look good because it is his guy,” the unnamed exec told Sando, referencing Broncos coach Sean Payton. “I think they might be better with Jarrett Stidham.”

“The guy threw for 365 yards against San Francisco a couple years ago,” another different NFL executive said to Sando. “Payton liked him for a reason, and he’ll coach the s–t out of him, and he can do it for a game.”

Stidham is a veteran player and was one of Payton’s key signings in his first free agency class in 2023. Will he be an upgrade? That’s hard to say. But should Broncos Country have confidence? Yes!

The Broncos face off against the New England Patriots this Sunday for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. Despite playing at home, Denver’s considered an underdog going into the AFC Championship game.
